Story of Raksha Banadhan Celebration

The tradition of Raksha Bandhan begun in the Vedic times when once Lord Indra was fighting with the demons and was facing reverses. That’s why, Lord Indra approached Guru Brihaspati and he advised him to tie a silk thread, which was powered by great sacred mantras. Indrani, the wife of Lord Indra followed the instructions and tied the sacred thread on the wrist of Lord Indra.
